Course content & learning objectives

Chapters

AI in everyday development

You'll receive a brief introduction and an overview of the course structure. A developer will show you how they use AI to explain code, generate test cases, and design documentation.

Secrets stay secret

By examining typical inputs in AI tools, you'll learn where login credentials, keys, and confidential source code might be hidden. You'll discover why the trade secrets act requires appropriate confidentiality measures and how to clean up inputs beforehand.

Review and test generated code

You'll use AI to support the error analysis and examine the security vulnerabilities and functional errors in the suggestions. A secure test environment shows you how the testing process works before deployment.

Licenses, copyright, and release

Using examples, you’ll learn when generated code may be subject to third-party licenses and why code generated solely by ai does not enjoy its own protection under copyright law. The approval process by an authorized person is walked through step by step.

Summary and final quiz

You'll summarize the key points and wrap up with the final quiz.

Learning objectives

  • You never enter credentials, keys, or confidential source code into AI tools that have not been approved.
  • You systematically review AI-generated code for security vulnerabilities and functional defects before adopting it.
  • You comply with licensing and copyright requirements under the German Copyright Act when incorporating AI suggestions into your projects.
  • You test AI suggestions only in appropriate environments that are isolated from production systems.
  • You take ownership of the code you deploy and obtain sign-off from the responsible approver.

Questions about e-learning, LMS and certification

Certificate & Compliance

Yes. Upon successful completion of the final assessment, a digital certificate of participation is issued – suitable for internal documentation and compliance verification.

Target Audience & Process

This course is designed for employees in software development, IT support, DevOps, and technical project teams. Stakeholders in development, IT security, and system administration will also benefit, as they are responsible for approvals. Programming skills are helpful but not required.
You complete the e-learning in approximately 15 minutes at your own pace on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Across five chapters, you follow a developer through a realistic work scenario. A graded final quiz with five questions confirms your learning outcomes.

Integration & Customization

Yes. The course is available as SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, or LTI and integrates directly with common learning management systems.
Yes. Corporate branding (logo, colors, corporate identity) as well as internal content such as contacts, policies, or process guidelines can be integrated.

Updates, Demo, Licensing

Yes. For technical evaluation, we provide a demo SCORM package or a time-limited trial access (approximately 14 days).

Content & Relevance

AI-assisted software development means that AI assistants explain code, generate test cases, draft documentation, or analyze bugs. This speeds up the work but creates risks for source code, credentials, and security. The training shows you how to leverage this support without exposing confidential information or adopting flawed code.
Three laws primarily apply when using AI in software development and IT support: the German Trade Secrets Act (GeschGehG), the German Copyright Act (UrhG), and the EU AI Act. The German Trade Secrets Act protects source code only if the company takes appropriate confidentiality measures. The German Copyright Act establishes that purely AI-generated code has no copyright protection of its own and that third-party licenses must be respected. Article 4 of the EU AI Act has required companies to ensure the AI literacy of their employees.

Licensing, Updates, Demo

The training is available as a standalone module, a course bundle, or on a subscription basis. Licensing is company-wide and typically requires a minimum term of one year.
